As week 14 of the NFL season gets underway, the New York Jets (5-7) play the Denver Broncos (3-9) in a must win away game if the Jets want to keep their playoff chances alive. The Jets are 1-4 on the road this season and including this week, three of the next four games are away from Metlife Stadium. In 35 games between these two historic franchises, the Broncos lead the series 18-15. Josh McCown may not be the long term answer at quarterback for the Jets but he’s been played very well this season. McCown has thrown for more than 300 yards, three times this year, including last week vs the Kansas City Chiefs. Meanwhile, the Broncos are playing musical chairs with their quarterbacks (Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler). Siemian, Lynch and Osweiler have combined for 14 touchdowns and 18 interceptions this season. Not to mention, the Broncos have weapons to throw to, Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders and the Kansas City Chiefs only lead the division with a record of 6-6. This has to be frustrating for not only fans but the GM John Elway as well. I expect the Jets to stop their running game and force Trever Siemian to throw the ball, as he’s thrown 13 of the Broncos 18 interceptions on the year. Last week, the Jets ran the ball for 106 yards versus the Chiefs and the Broncos will be without both Domata Peko and Derek Wolfe. Both Peka and Wolfe are key parts to the Broncos defense and the Jets need to take advantage of the Broncos weakened defensive line. Also, Aqua Talib will be returning after his one game suspension for his fight with Michael Crabtree. Prediction: Jets 24- 14 Broncos
