After watching two weeks of disappointment, the New York Jets finally get their first win of the 2017 season against AFC east rival Miami Dolphins in a game where the Jets actually looked like a pretty good team. At least we can finally bury all this talk about the Jets going 0-16, but were they ever going to go 0-16 though? I highly doubt that and if they play the way they did yesterday, we can expect more victories; although it might take them out of the Sam Darnold race. The defense and Josh McCown looked tremendous against the Dolphins and made Ajayi a non factor.
McCown finished the game 18 of 23 for 249 yards and a touchdown that was a 69 yard bomb to wide receiver Robby Anderson. Chandler Catanzaro kicked two field goals in the win and the defense forced the Dolphins and Cutler into mistakes all game long, Rookie safety Jamal Adams recorded one of the Jets three sacks and he was all over the ball every single play as the rookie shines and this team showed a lot of confidence. Jay Cutler finished 26 of 44 with 220 yards with a TD and an INT, while Ajayi rushed 11 times with 16 yards.
The Jets missed going 0-3 for the first time since 2003 and almost got a shutout since beating the Cincinnati Bengals 37-0 on Jan. 13, 2010. Overall, it was a good team victory for the Jets and being that they got their confidence, We can expect this team to win a couple of more games during this season.
